National Digital Elocution Competition (NDEC) 2007
NDEC - Winners Announced

A great opportunity for school students to participate in a national level competition from their respective cities and win prizes

The National Digital Elocution Competition (NDEC), as the name suggests, is a digital elocution competition that is designed to encourage, recognise and reward budding talent in schools across the country by providing a national digital platform for school students in classes V to X to participate, compete and win prizes.

The competition is organised by Reliance World annually and every year students await its announcement. This year, registration to NDEC 2007 began in the third week of November 2006 and almost instantly school students across India flocked to Reliance World to register for the competition. Within a month more than 9000 students had registered for the competition and were ready to record their elocution videos at Reliance World.

The elocution videos were recorded using the VDO Messaging service available at all 240 Reliance World stores across India and the video links were sent to a panel of judges who viewed and rated the videos based on various parameters. The semifinalists were then given new topics.

The semifinals were held in January 2007, using Video Conferencing at Reliance World. Selected participants visited Reliance World in their respective cities and presented their elocution 'live' to a panel of judges based in Mumbai via Video Conferencing. The finals were also conducted in a similar manner.

During the finals, the excitement among the participants was almost palpable as each of them presented their elocution via Video Conferencing. It was also interesting to see how easily they took to the technology-almost all of them were using Video Conferencing for the first time-and spoke with utmost confidence.

The proud and happy winners were all smiles as their names were announced. Here's a list of the final winners of NDEC 2007.
